Another cocktail from Hugo Ennslin's 1917 book Recipes for Mixed Drinks, but these particular specs have been modernized by the team at the Dead Rabbit, a modern Irish pub in New York City.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (such as Redbreast 12 Yr)

  • 1 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth

  • 1/2 oz Green Chartreuse

  • 3 dashes Absinthe

  • 3 dashes Angostura Bitters

  • 3 dashes Orange Bitters

Technique

Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and then stir 30-45 seconds. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass.

Garnish

Expressed Orange Peel (then discarded)
