Cocktail #005- The Elevated Grasshopper
An elevated take on a dessert cocktail for National Creme de Menthe Day (September 15).
COCKTAILDESSERTAFTER DINNER
The Grasshopper is a cocktail that traces its origins over 100 years ago in New Orleans, but has seen many variations over the years including ones made with mint chocolate chip ice cream in a more milkshake-like consistency. This recipe comes from Leo Robitschek's The NoMad Cocktail Book. It provides an elevated take on the traditionally equal parts creme de menthe-cream-creme de cacao formula by not only varying the proportions, but also adding Fernet-Branca and its menthol notes as well as shaking with some mint leaves.
