Miller Birthday Cocktail Class

Rye Tai


In a shaker tin, add the following ingredients with pebble ice:
2 oz Rye Whiskey
3/4 oz Orgeat (Almond Syrup)
3/4 oz Pineapple Juice
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
Shake 10-15 seconds and party pour into a tall glass. Fill with crushed ice. Top with 6-10 dashes Angostura bitters. Garnish with a pineapple wedge or swizzle stick.
Recommended Ingredients
Rye Whiskey: Rittenhouse, Wild Turkey 101 Rye, Old Overholt, Sazerac, anything 90-100 proof
Orgeat Syrup: Homemade (see recipe below), Liquid Alchemist Almond Orgeat, Liber & Co. Almond Orgeat, Small Hand Foods Orgeat, B.G. Reynolds Orgeat, El Guapo Almond Orgeat, El Guapo Creole Orgeat (Pecan)
Syrup Recipes
Orgeat Syrup: Combine 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk and 2 cups of sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved and remove from heat. Add 3 tsp of almond extract and 1/2 tsp of orange blossom water and stir to combine. Funnel into a bottle.
Paper Plane


¾ oz Bourbon
¾ oz Aperol
¾ oz Amaro Nonino
¾ oz Lemon Juice
Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice. Shake 10-15 seconds and double strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lemon peel, a paper plane, or nothing at all.
Recommended Ingredients
Bourbon: Any Quality Bourbon (90 proof or above)
Benton's Old Fashioned


In a mixing glass, add the following ingredients and ice.
2 oz Bacon Fat-Washed Bourbon
1/4 oz Maple Syrup (Grade A Dark/Robust preferably...formerly known as Grade B)
2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
Stir until chilled, 30-45 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass over a large clear cube. Garnish with an expressed orange peel.
Recommended Ingredients
Bourbon: Four Roses Bourbon, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Elijah Craig Small Batch, no need to use anything too expensive
Fat Washing Recipe
In a quart jar, combine a 750mL bottle of Four Roses Bourbon with 1.5 oz liquified bacon fat. Set aside and infuse for 4 hours at room temperature. Then place in the freezer for 2 horus. Afterward, scoop off the fat and strain the remaining liquid through cheesecloth. Keep fat-washed bourbon stored in the refrigerator.
